E.M.I.T. - Experimental Music in Texas. A great site, documenting all the goings on in the Texas scene.

Austin New Music Co-op - Excellent Austin organization that puts on modern music concerts. Past events have featured pieces by Terry Riley, Pauline Oliveros, Cornelius Cardew, the New York School, and many local composers.

AMODA - Austin Museum of Digital Art. Brent Fariss is currently the Performance Director for the 2004-2005 season.

KOOP Radio - Community radio station owned and operated by its members. Streaming broadcast. Tune into Commercial Suicide, Sunday nights from 8-10pm (CDT).

The Station Museum - Excellent gallery in Houston, TX. Recently hosted the Herman Nitsch "ORGIES MYSTERIES THEATER" exhibition.

Bill Thompson - The site for the other half of spectral house. He is now in Scotland getting his PhD. Check it out!

Stable/Unstable - Travis Weller's personal website, extremely thorough.

Holland Hopson - Holland's personal website, lots of good information.

Josh Ronsen - Editor of Austinnitus, if you haven't signed up...please do. His site has tons of useful links.

Alex Keller - Experimental music, sound art performances, and recordings, often featuring live electronics.

Cory Allen - Website for Austin-based composer, Cory Allen.

Greg Headley - Recent transplant to Austin from LA. Great sounds.

LABELS

bremsstrahlung recordings - Great label that has released the two "lowercase sound" compilations, as well as being the home to the net label TRANS>PARENT RADIATION.

elevator bath - Colin Andew Sheffield's excellent label, featuring releases by Rick Reed, Frequency Curtain, and more...

Distillery Records - Label and excellent studio run by Douglas Ferguson.

Ecoli Records - Bill Thompson's (aka prof_lofi) now defunkt noise label.

 

MAIL ORDER / SHOPS

End of an Ear - A great new record store in Austin, bringing you the best in indie pop, experimental, obscure, prog, psych, jazz, techno, folk, french pop, soul, funk, punk, lounge, reggae, hip-hop, techno and other sounds. Run by Dan Plunkett (former owner of the late, great 33 degrees) and Blake Carlisle (Iron Kite).

Aquarius Records - Excellent mail order shop in San Francisco with lots of detailed info and tons of sounds samples...plus loads of black metal!!!

Forced Exposure - Another great mail order site. Everyone should know
