About

spectral house focuses on the publication of modern / experimental music, creating an enviroment to distribute recordings and scores via the internet. Brent Fariss and Bill Thompson formed spectral house in 2001 as a way to debut their own works, as well as the music of other exciting composers.

spectral house also plans to take advantage of the internet as a way present works and plan on having web releases and scores available periodically. A free web release by Brent Fariss is available for download, entitled shining white air featuring a suite for solo bass, an electro-acoustic octet, and a piece for 2 euphoniums inspired by the work of Cy Twombly. SCORES are available for sale or for free for all to enjoy, including 2 pieces from the shining white air web release! We plan on having more scores available, so check back from time to time.

More free downloads are available in the Samples section, including a recent bass piece by Brent Fariss: Witchcraft, Minutiae, and Other Rhythmic Inconsistencies and a live recording of an operetta, der Idiotprinz.
